Olga ANTONONOKA is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Graduate School for Manga Studies in Kyoto Seika University, Kyoto (Japan). Olga holds a M.A. in Japanese Studies from the University of Latvia and a M.A. in Manga Studies from Kyoto Seika University. Her M.A. project: “Bishōnen in Boys’ Love Manga: Transcending the Phallus” addressed the performative androgyny of the boys’ love protagonist. Her PhD project focuses on performance, gender and manga as a performative medium.
