François-Rabelais University (France)
Maxime DANESIN has obtained his PhD on Modern Literature, at François-Rabelais University (Tours, France). His field of research is the study of Transtextuality and Transculture in Literature, focusing on the cultural relationship between Japan and Europe, with a particular interest in neomedievalism, light novels and manga. He has published articles on the representation of European Middle Ages in contemporary Japanese literature, on the transtextual relation between Norse sagas and Yukimura Makoto’s manga Vinland Saga, and on the reception of Japanese light novels in France. His ongoing doctoral thesis is titled “The European Representations in Japanese Postmodern Paraliterature: Transculture as a part of the literary creation process”.
Maxime is a also one of the co-founder and one of the vice-president of Mutual Images Research Association. He is also co-manager of the open-access and blind peer-review Mutual Images Journal (ISSN 2496-1868), published by this association.
