José Andrés SANTIAGO IGLESIAS is a visual artist and full-time postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts (Universidad de Vigo, Spain), focused on expanded-field comics, manga and anime studies in Spain from a theoretical perspective. Member of the dx5 - digital & graphic_art_research group – specialized in expanded field contemporary graphic art and dialogues between art & science – he is currently leading the research line entitled «Estudios Transdisciplinares sobre Cómic (ETC)» within this research group. Also member of the ACDCómic [Asociación de Críticos y Divulgadores de Cómic de España] since its inception in 2012. Former fellow of the Japan Foundation’s Japanese Studies Program and invited postdoctoral researcher at the Graduate School of Manga (Kyoto Seika University, Japan, 2014 - 2016). His doctoral thesis was revised into a book entitled Manga. Del cuadro flotante a la viñeta japonesa published by Comanegra in 2010.
